My Story
Welcome, I am Celia from C through my eyes photography
I am C from the name of my business.
The nickname came from my dad, who when I was a child, would write notes to me as C instead of Celia. While coming up with the name for my business, as I wanted people to see what beauty I saw around me, I started playing around with the word 'see'. It was one of my daughters whp came up with the clever use of C for 'see' through my eyes. So you could say the business name is a three generation family collaboration.
I have always been creating things: poetry, stories, artworks, painting, sculpture, designing homes, interior design, DIY, landscaping, sewing, crochet, clothes design..... you name it from pencil to chainsaw my hands know no fear. After years of primary school teaching, I went on to transform a vacant rural plot into a productive goat & hobby farm in Western Australia and designed my farmhouse to live 'The Good Life' Felicity Kendall style while I started my family. Now I am back in England & nature is still calling me in this latest project, landscape photography of Surrey.
The outdoors has always been my place to be, to walk and explore, to be one with nature.
My thinking space, my place of comfort and my tranquil time. It’s where I sort out my problems, think about the day ahead and get excited about what’s to come.
Call me the hippy girl of the woods.
I get some of my best ideas on my daily walks, including this business.
It started with Bobby
Bobby, the scout
Whilst walking my scruffy little rescue dog Bobby each morning, trying to spot him as he darted far and wide on his hunt for squirrels, I started looking afresh. Seeing things I had not seen before, or perhaps not taken the time to see. I wanted to capture this beauty so started taking photographs. I soon amassed a huge collection, too big for just one person. So here I am sharing the beauty of nature.
Then the creative in me took over
I found myself looking with an artist’s eye, on the woodland floor, beneath the undergrowth, high above me, and right infront of my eyes. Looking and seeing what perhaps others were missing as they rushed by with their day. The astonishing beauty and variety were never ending and each day I saw so many new images I wanted to capture.
(Many a time, I could be spotted lying down on the ground covered in leaf litter photographing these sights. The hippy photography of the forrest!)
My Vision
I wanted to photograph the woods as I saw them, at that precise moment in time. To capture the changing light day to day, through the elements and the weather. As the seasons came and went I noticed the same scenes changing in front of my eyes like a story.
My photos are in the main unedited, and I deliberately keep them so. They remain pure and as they appeared and spoke to me at the time. I tried to capture Nature’s true beauty, her essence, her moment in time without human edits and alterations. Hopefully what you see in my photos is a true and accurate image of how it was for me.
You ‘see’ through my eyes.
Just like that, my business was born.

Maxwell Smart the Cat, sub editor
He is by the way, very smart. Even while typing this he is trying to tap away at the keys. Self promotion!
Max & Bobby are my furry duo, brothers in arms, and as such one can't get in on the action without the other. Jealousy won't allow it.
Max joins me in the studio at the editing stage and tries to tap away his preferences.
Lucky for you, but don't tell him, I'm in charge not him.
